Grand Trunk Pub – Detroit

Branding – Graphic Design – Print – Web

We started working with the new owners of Detroit’s legendary Grand Trunk Pub back in 2007 when it was known as Foran’s Irish Pub. We created the original crest logo that has been baked into the culture and identity of the new brand and establishment. We’ve created countless designs for posters, menus, websites, and clothing. We also designed the pub’s local currency called Three Cheers. Contributing through design to the rise of Detroit and it’s small business owners has been so rewarding. Cheers!

The logo above we created. We gathered elements of the pubs history and implemented them into the mark. The top portion of the crest represents the history of the building. The building was once a Grand Trunk Railroad ticket office. The number one on the lower part of the train relates to Woodward Avenue or M1 location. Thistle, hops and irsh icons were added to support the pub spirt. If you look at the bold line that surround of the words grand trunk it is drawn as a train box car shape. The lower portion of the logo is a re drawn architecture element of the of the interior design.
